"I was in an abusive relationship, and despite the pain and shame inflicted upon me, I still loved my abusive partner. It was a difficult realization to grapple with, questioning why I harbored feelings for someone who caused me so much harm. I cannot pinpoint when it all began or when I should have uttered my first 'no,' but that initial refusal should have been my final one."
A series of nude women depicted on vibrant and colorful papers, layered upon one another, portrays the complex and conflicting emotions inherent in abusive relationships. From the outside, there may be a facade of joy and glamour, yet beneath the surface lies the reality of marked, wounded bodies and shattered souls. This juxtaposition creates a three-dimensional representation of the emotional turbulence experienced, navigating between highs and lows, dreams and nightmares.
