"I was in an abusive relationship and I loved my abusive partner. It was difficult to understand why I loved someone who has hurt and shamed me so much… I don’t know when it started. Nor when I should have said my first “no”. But this first “no” should have been the last one."
A series of nude women with tears, pain, tension and violence on vibrant and colorful papers, superimposed one on the other, evoke the layered ambivalence of abusive-relationship stories: the gap between joy and glamor, from the outside, and marked, wounded and injured bodies, souls and hearts from within. A three-dimensional topography of "ups" and "downs", dreams and hells.
